Croft loves Autumn

While we are not sure we can get behind all the autumn trends (pumpkin spiced Croft, no thanks!) there are some elements of this season we can’t help but shout about. Let us know what you think on Facebook, whether you agree, or perhaps you have your own autumn traditions.

Chunky knitsCroft Original with a glass and basket of red apples

Whether you’re packing away the shorts and digging out the cold weather clothes or you have knitted something yourself, enjoy wrapping yourself up in a big cosy cardigan and watch autumn’s riot of red, orange and gold leaves begin.

Walking through leaves

Fancy getting out into nature? Layer up, pull the boots on and find your inner child for a good old scuff through the leaves on a crisp autumn day. Revel in the smell of fresh forest after the rain, listen for the scrunch under the soles of your shoes, bit of bird spotting maybe. Who says kids get to have all the fun?

Sweeping up the leaves!

Alright, maybe a couple of months constantly sweeping up the leaves isn’t going to top the list for fun, but isn’t it satisfying bagging them up? You’re creating the best free mulch for your garden in a year or two. Tuck your strawberry plants under wool or straw. Plan where your Spring bulbs are going. Enjoy the months ahead without constant weeding. Put some feeders out for local wildlife. And prep the firepit, after all, cold weather doesn’t mean your outside space can’t still be used.

Sunday Roast dinners

What is the number one moment when our lovely Croft fans crack open a bottle of our sherry?  Prepping the Sunday lunch of course! The great British tradition of a tasty roast with all the trimmings – Yorkshire puddings aren’t just for beef! – just calls out for slow afternoons, friends, family, chatting round the kitchen table and a chilled glass of Croft to keep the chef, and guests, going. Lovely with a bit of trifle to finish too. (Recipes available in this blog section)

So let’s embrace the Danish ‘hygge’ concept, get cosy, catch up with friends and of course, don’t forget the Croft!
